The Rydettes WI have been actively supporting the Dental Health Matters initiative by creating dental health bags, which will be distributed to women across the Isle of Wight by Aspire and the Living Well & Early Help Service.
Recently, members of the Rydettes WI – Jessica, Sue, Zena, Jo, Jo B, and Julie – met with Steve Johnson, Director of Community and Development at Aspire, and Michelle Vincent, Project Lead for the Living Well & Early Help Service. During the visit, they presented the dental health bags and enjoyed a tour of Aspire’s building and grounds, learning more about the organisation’s work supporting the local community.
The Dental Health Matters initiative was chosen by the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI) as their annual campaign to promote good oral hygiene and support women with dental health needs.
The dental health bags will be distributed to new residents at the ARCH flats, via the Welcome Desk in Ryde, to Sandown Pantry members at ELIM Pentecostal Church, and to community members across the island.
The Rydettes WI is a dynamic and ‘young’ WI group, combining modern activities and exciting visitors with the traditional values of the WI.
