After a career as a Transport Planner in Wolverhampton and Kent, wonderfully interrupted by three years as a lay worker at St. Catherine’s Church in Ventnor, my wife, Maxine, and I felt God call us (back) to the Isle of Wight and to Carisbrooke Priory very specifically. Sharing Heath’s passion for Christian unity, I accepted the invitation to join the Aspire Board early in 2017. Live music, photography and videoing, writing poetry and visiting Alderney are seemingly reasonable pursuits, with some less convincing dabbling in philately. The Christian response to environmental issues is a particular focus, albeit having a daughter in the USA and a step-daughter in Denmark creates a carbon footprint dilemma. I long to see the Church here respond to other key issues such as housing, poverty and mental well-being, hence being involved with Aspire is pretty obvious, thanks be to God.
