This year marked the 10th anniversary of Dash and Splash, an event first dreamed up by Australian volunteer Frederick Fisher to raise money for Aspire Ryde.
Despite a blustery start on Saturday morning, around 100 participants braved the weather to take part in our charity 5K beach run, from Shanklin Rowing Club to Yaverland. The quieter beaches proved to be a blessing, with plenty of space to dash (and splash!) around the groynes. Even with the tide at its lowest point by 10:30am, there were still a few soggy trainers along the way!
A huge thank you to our marshals, who lined the route and guided runners (some even getting their feet wet in the process!), as well as Raynet and Wight Event First Aid, who were on hand to ensure everyone’s safety.
We’re also very grateful to our fantastic sponsors and supporters:
- Choice Carpets Lake
- Gareth from GP Sports
- Shanklin & Sandown Rowing Club
- Yaverland Sailing Club
- Shanklin Rotary Club (for their help and supplying medals)
- Tesco Ryde (for providing water)
Congratulations to our 2025 Winners:

- Youth Winner (Boy): Tristan Couthlan

“Thanks to the generosity of our runners and supporters, we’re hoping to have raised over £1,000 to support Aspire’s community work.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part – we can’t wait to see you back on the beach for Dash and Splash 2026!”
