Books For Free

Books For Free is a simple project about sharing.

The main aim is to keep the books out of landfill or from being pulped by ‘rescuing’ them and finding new homes for them. It’s about generosity and community as well as the issue of saving resources from going to landfill.
The books themselves are donated by local people. People are encouraged to take no more than 3 books at any one time and to leave a donation if they can.

The idea was inspired by the Books For Free project in Southampton

Books For Free runs from the following locations:

Entrance to Aspire Ryde
Wootton Community Centre
Havenstreet
Bembridge

Whenever the entrance to Aspire is open, feel free to come in a take a look at our selection of book. If you would like to take one, please do!

If you would like to set up a Book For Free in your community setting, do get in touch and we may be able to help you to start one up. Contact sandy@aspire.org.uk or tel 716020
